Schisandra is native to China and is mainly distributed in the northern region, but also in Korea and Japan. Schisandra is divided into two kinds, north and south. North Schisandra has large grains, thick flesh, soft and moist, and is a Taoist medicinal herb; south Schisandra likes cool and humid climate, is cold resistant, does not tolerate flooding, and needs moderate shade. We can use different ingredients according to your needs.
Northern Schisandra is also known as Schisandra (Materia Medica), Liao Wu Wei (common name), Shan Hua Jiao, and Pepper Seedling (Northeast) Ulalji Gana (Mongolian name). It belongs to the genus Schisandra in the family Schisandraceae according to the latest plant classification system.
The leaves and fruits of Schisandra can extract aromatic oil, the young stems and leaves can be eaten, the seeds and stems can be used as seasoning, the whole plant can be used as vertical greenery, the seed kernels can be used as industrial raw materials and lubricating oil by extracting oil, and the stem bark is flexible and can be used for making ropes.
